Medical Pot, Delta 8, & Florida Cannabis Supply Differences
When it comes to cannabis, there are a lot of different terms used nowadays that can be confusing. We see things like medical dispensaries, stores that promote Delta-8 products, Delta-8 dispensaries, and even us—Florida Cannabis Supply. The biggest question in all of this: what makes us all different? Let’s dive into this question and bring some clarity to the chaos.
Cannabis and Delta 8 THC
First on the list are places that promote Delta-8 products. Delta-8 is naturally occurring in cannabis, but in much smaller amounts than Delta-9 THC, which is responsible for the psychoactive effect known as the “high.” To achieve a more potent level, most Delta-8 is synthesized from Cannabidiol (CBD), another cannabinoid found naturally in cannabis.
Though naturally occurring, Delta-8 must be synthetically created to produce effects similar to Delta-9—though much milder. Delta-8 products can be found in various locations, including specialty stores, smoke shops, gas stations, and more. Important note: Delta-8 is not FDA-regulated, and because most products are synthetically created, they may contain unsafe chemicals, contaminants, or inaccurate labeling, which can lead to unexpected effects.
Medical Cannabis
Medical cannabis is natural cannabis, but the key difference lies in how it’s cultivated and harvested. The process is highly controlled and regulated to ensure safety, consistency, and quality. Strains are handpicked based on their cannabinoid profiles (CBD, THC, etc.) and are intended for medical use.
Medical cannabis is grown in controlled environments—indoors, in greenhouses, or occasionally outdoors (though outdoor cultivation is less preferred due to limited control). Growers use specialized lighting and climate systems to create optimal conditions for plant growth. Watering and nutrients are delivered either hydroponically (a soil-free, water-based method) or through soil-based systems using organic or synthetic fertilizers.
Every step of the growth process is closely monitored, and products must undergo strict lab testing before being sold. These rigorous standards are what give medical cannabis its potent and consistent effects, making it a viable medical option for patients. While not federally approved, medical cannabis is legal in many states with a doctor’s prescription and a medical cannabis card.
Florida Cannabis Supply (FCS)

So, what makes Florida Cannabis Supply different?
FCS is a seed-to-sale cannabis dispensary. What does that mean? All cannabis supplied by FCS is planted by local independent Florida farmers, harvested, and processed into various forms—flower, edibles, vapes, and more—right here in Florida. It’s then distributed to our local stores or shipped directly to customers. This allows us to oversee every step of the process and deliver the highest quality cannabis.
But that’s just part of the story.
FCS grows all cannabis organically, without synthetics or pesticides, using regenerative practices that help us maintain a wide variety of strains. Our cannabis is full-spectrum, meaning it utilizes everything the plant has to offer—CBD, THC, and other naturally occurring cannabinoids and terpenes.
This differs from Delta-8 products, which rely heavily on synthesized cannabinoids, and from medical cannabis, which often focuses on high-THC strains for targeted treatment.
Most importantly, what truly sets us apart is our mission to empower the people who visit our shops and support FCS. For us, it’s not just about making a sale—it’s about providing the knowledge people need to find what works best for them and to discover the many benefits cannabis has to offer.
We’re not just a place that sells cannabis—we’re a movement to bring greater understanding of cannabis and everything it has to offer.
